ACCESSIBILITY
We believe a session at Cool Coast Ice Rink should be enjoyable for everyone.
The BIC multi-story car park is a short distance from the Purbeck entrance. The path is slightly elevated. There are 35 accessible parking bays for Blue Badge holders in the BIC multi-level car park located on levels 1 to 3 of the car park (including 3 overlength spaces on Level 1). There is lift access to all floors. Charges for parking apply – see signage for details.
Access to the Cool Coast Ice Rink is via the level ground Purbeck entrance at the rear of the BIC (BH2 5BH).
There is one accessible toilet located in the Purbeck foyer.
Relaxed sessions are available. They are quieter and the main hall and festoon lighting are switched on to provide a calmer, relaxed experience. These sessions may benefit people with additional needs or sensory requirements, such as sensitivities to loud noises or limited vision.
The rink is wheelchair accessible for any skate session. Up to 10 wheelchairs are allowed on the ice at any time. Manual and electric-powered wheelchairs can go onto the ice, although electric wheelchairs must be switched to manual mode and pushed by a carer.
Each accessible ticket at Cool Coast Ice Rink automatically includes access for one carer / essential companion.
Guide Dogs and Assistance Dogs are welcome in the spectator area however be aware that the rink gets very busy and noisy.
